1. Who we are

This website and store at opal.lighting are operated by NaturaLight Design (KvK 95137963, VAT NL005132418B02), established in the Netherlands at Reinier de Graafweg 480 (“OPAL”, “we/us/our”).

By purchasing from our store, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Preorder Policy, and Returns & Refunds Policy.

2. Products & availability

We design and assemble lighting hardware and accessories. Product photos are illustrative; minor variations (e.g., LED color temperature tolerances) may occur without affecting performance. We may limit or cancel quantities, correct errors, or discontinue items.

3. Prices, VAT & payment

Prices are shown in your local currency (where available) and include VAT where applicable. You authorize us to charge your selected payment method at checkout. If we discover a pricing or stock error, we may cancel and refund your order.

4. Preorders

Preorders reserve units still in production.

  • Dispatch timing: Preorders dispatch within 60 days of purchase.

  • Current batch: Orders placed now are planned to dispatch mid-October 2025 (estimate).

  • Cooling-off start: Your EU 14-day withdrawal and our 30-day return window start at delivery, not at the preorder date.

  • Cancel anytime before dispatch for a full refund by emailing support@opal.lighting with your order number.

5. Shipping & risk of loss

We ship from the Netherlands; details in our Shipping & Preorder Policy. Title to goods passes upon full payment. Risk of loss transfers to you upon delivery to the address you provided. International buyers are responsible for import duties/taxes.

6. Right of withdrawal & returns (EU)

Consumers in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal from delivery. OPAL also offers a 30-day change-of-mind return (see Returns & Refunds). Some items may be excluded where permitted by law (e.g., custom/personalized goods). For business (B2B) purchases, the withdrawal right does not apply.

7. Warranty & legal guarantee (EU)

Your statutory legal guarantee applies (up to 2 years in the EU). If a product is defective or not as described, contact support@opal.lighting with your order number, description, and photos. We will repair, replace, or refund within a reasonable time. This is in addition to any commercial warranty we may offer.

What’s not covered: damage from misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modifications, accidents, liquid ingress, or normal wear.

8. Health & safety

OPAL products are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent disease. If you have a condition affected by bright light (e.g., photosensitivity, migraines, bipolar disorder, certain eye conditions), consult a qualified professional before use. Do not stare into bright LEDs at close range. Supervise children. Install securely per instructions; avoid extreme heat/humidity.

9. Installation, compatibility & updates

Ensure your workspace and power supply are compatible with the product specifications. We may provide firmware/app updates that enhance performance or security. Some features may be released as beta/early access and could change or be withdrawn.

10. Software license & open source

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the OPAL app and firmware with OPAL hardware. Some components may include open-source software under their respective licenses; those licenses govern your use of those components.

11. Promotions & gift cards

Discount codes may have limits (time, quantity, eligibility) and cannot be combined unless stated. Gift cards are non-refundable except as required by law.

12. Prohibited uses

You agree not to misuse the site or products (e.g., unlawful use, reverse engineering, harmful interference, reselling as “new” after use without our consent).

13. Reviews & user content

If you submit reviews or content, you grant OPAL a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display such content in connection with our services. Do not post unlawful, infringing, or misleading content.

14. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you cannot waive under applicable law. To the extent permitted, OPAL is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages; our total liability for any claim related to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the product at issue.

15. Force majeure

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., pandemic impacts, component shortages, strikes, carrier failures, government actions).

16. Ownership & retention of title

Goods remain our property until paid in full (eigendomsvoorbehoud). You must keep goods in good condition and not sell/pledge them until ownership passes.

17. Privacy

We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy (GDPR compliant). We share data only with service providers necessary to fulfill your order (e.g., payment, logistics).

18. Disputes, governing law & ODR

These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Courts in the Netherlands have jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes apply prospectively from publication on this page. If changes are material, we’ll note the effective date at the top.
